Owner, Physical Therapist, PWR!Moves Certified

Rey Abadilla, PT

He opened Youtherapy so older adults in Milford would have a place built for them. His own line for the work, and the one this clinic still runs on: let's bring back the youth in you.

Rey Abadilla, Owner and Physical Therapist at Youtherapy Wellness and Physical Rehab

Why he opened Youtherapy

Rey earned his physical therapy degree at Our Lady of Fatima University in 2006.

He grew up in the Philippines and started working in the US in 2013. Since then he has worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care and skilled nursing facilities, and taught physical therapy at the college level.

Much of that time was spent with patients living with neurologic conditions. Somewhere in there he noticed something about himself.

He related to the older patients. He liked them. He liked what they had to say about long, well lived lives, and he kept learning from it.

So that is where his career went. He and his wife found the same passion for this population and decided to build their professional lives around it.

Youtherapy came out of that decision. A place in Milford for aging adults and for people whose mobility is not what it was, running evidence based programs instead of guesswork.

What it is like to work with him

Rey is a licensed physical therapist and PWR!Moves certified for Parkinson's work.

In practice, he does not hand you a sheet of exercises and walk away. He gets in and does the movements with you.

His group work centers on Tai Chi, and it does real things for balance, reaction time, and confidence on your own two feet.

He has taught this, not just done it

Rey has lectured in college physical therapy programs. He also helped a company start a review center and created a program to help students pass the NPTE, the national licensing exam.

Before opening Youtherapy, he spent four years as a rehab director.

That matters to you for one reason. Explaining a movement clearly to a room of future therapists is the same skill as explaining your knee to you, in plain language, so you know what you are doing and why.

Running the clinic

Besides treating patients, Rey handles the clinic's day to day operations and takes care of the whole staff.

His core values: be honest, pray hard, keep moving forward. In his words, working here "really gives me the opportunity to be what a Physical therapist should be."

The patients he most wants to reach are the ones who feel they can't get any better. With the right approach, physical therapy can make them strong and active again.

His favorite quote: "What's happening now is not because of what we did yesterday, but because of what will happen in the future."

What his patients say

"I can't say enough about YouTherapy. I was referred to them by Dr. Ned who is my foot doctor. I was having many falls and Rey helped me through and taught me how to walk to prevent the falls. You would think that at my age I would know how to walk...nope but with Rey's help and patience I learned so much about proper walking, balance and posture. I highly recommend YouTherapy. They are literally a one stop and get well."

"Rey is an excellent physical therapist. He takes the time to know and understand you and your injury. He communicates effectively so that I always understand what is going on with my treatment. The office is always exceptionally clean, my appointments are always on time, and everyone there is so friendly. If I could give YouTherapy 10 stars - I would! I do not hesitate to recommend them!"

"Ray and Joanne are wonderful people. The sincerity in their treatment is obvious. They work around my difficult schedule and I always look forward to my next session."

Start with Rey

You are the one who has handled things for everyone else for years. Which is usually why your own knee, or your own balance, is the last thing anyone looks at.

One cause-first evaluation is where that turns around. One therapist, one patient, the whole hour yours.
